COVID-19 Response Plan |
ATDB has activated its Emergency Response Plan, moved to secure locations and is 100% operational.
ATDB continues providing an accurate picture of the worldwide transport fleets during the current uncertain and fuzzy period. We list all aircraft moved to temporary storage. Keep in mind the following:
- Aircraft ferried to remote storage airports are identified as in storage.
- Aircraft which remains idle for several days are identified as in storage.
- Some of the above aircraft can be under regular maitenance or overhaul, and erroneously flagged as stored.
- Some aircraft may have been parked within a few hours or the last couple of days and still shown as active.
- Even with the help of robots, the quantity of new daily events is 2 orders of magnitude higher than usual; manually cross-checking each of the 60,000 potential aircraft takes a lot of our resources. Some aircraft may still be shown temporarily as active although they have been parked very recently.
- Some airlines attempt to rotate aircraft in order to avoid the technical issues of long-term storage (eg. corrosion). So claiming to stop 90% of services does not equate to grounding 90% of its aircraft.
- We publish an alert ('OCHG') when an airline suspends all air operations.
- If some airlines enter bankrupcy and/or liquidation, a different alert ('OSTP') will be published.
- Some airlines have closed all scheduled services but their aircraft are kept available for charter operations.
- Some airlines have shut down commercial operations but keep some active aircraft in order to retain their AOC.
- Some aircraft in storage may be commanded at any time for repatriation or emergency cargo flights.
Obviously ATDB will reset the aircraft status to active when each individual aircraft returns to service.
- Some aircraft in China have already been reactivated.
ATDB mirror servers are operational. Should our primary Internet server fails we will email the URL of an alternate server.
